Managing a sim racing team involves countless decisions—what car to run, which track to practice, when to schedule the next endurance race, or simply who is available for tonight's session. Until now, these decisions often scattered across Discord threads, WhatsApp groups, and DMs. Team Polls brings structured decision-making directly into your Simdeck team dashboard.

What Are Team Polls?

Team Polls are internal voting tools designed exclusively for your team members. Whether you need a quick show of hands or a detailed preference ranking, polls give every voice a clear path to be heard—without the noise of endless chat messages.

Poll Types for Every Scenario

We built three distinct poll types to cover the most common team decisions:

Yes / No / Maybe

The fastest way to gauge attendance or confirm a simple decision. Perfect for:

• "Can everyone make the 8 PM practice?"
• "Should we switch to the new BoP?"

Single Choice

When the team needs to pick one option from several. Ideal for:

• Selecting the next series to compete in
• Choosing a livery design
• Picking a strategy for the upcoming race

Multiple Choice

For decisions where more than one answer can be right. Great for:

• "Which tracks do you want to practice this week?" (select all that apply)
• Gathering availability across multiple time slots

Privacy and Transparency, Your Way

Every poll can be configured to match your team's culture:

• Anonymous Voting: Toggle anonymity to let members vote without pressure. Even when anonymous, votes are still auditable in the database for transparency and dispute resolution.
• Results Visibility: Choose when results appear—always visible, only after someone votes, only after the poll closes, or restricted to team leaders.
• Custom "Other" Option: Allow members to propose alternatives when the predefined choices do not quite fit.

Linked to Your Calendar

Creating an event now comes with an optional superpower: automatic availability polls. When scheduling a practice or race, team leaders can tick a single box to generate a Yes/No/Maybe poll attached directly to that event. Members see the poll right on the event page, and responses instantly show who is in, who is out, and who is still on the fence.

No more cross-referencing spreadsheets with calendar invites. One event, one poll, one source of truth.

How It Works

1. Create: Team leaders open the Polls tab and craft a question with up to 12 options.
2. Vote: Accepted members cast their votes. Single and multiple-choice polls allow changing your mind until the deadline.
3. Decide: Leaders close the poll, optionally recording a final decision and the winning option for future reference.
4. Archive: Old polls can be archived to keep the dashboard clean while preserving history.
