Announcements: Keep Your Team in the Loop

Running a sim racing team means more than just setting up races. Strategy changes, schedule updates, rule clarifications, and important notices all need to reach every member—reliably. Chat messages get buried. Discord pins get ignored. Team Announcements gives your team a dedicated, structured way to broadcast what matters.
What Are Team Announcements?
Announcements are official posts from team leaders that appear in a dedicated section of your team dashboard. Unlike casual messages, they carry context—visibility, priority, and confirmation that everyone actually saw them.
Public or Private? You Decide
Every announcement starts as Private by default, visible only to accepted team members. Need the world to know about your team's open registration or a community event? Toggle it to Public and it appears on your team's public page—no login required.
Priority Levels
Not all announcements carry the same weight. Choose a priority that matches the urgency:
- Normal — Regular updates, FYI-style posts
- Important — Things that need attention soon, highlighted with an amber badge
- Urgent — Critical information, flagged with a red badge and maximum visibility
Pin What Matters
Pin your most important announcements to the top of the list so they never get lost. Multiple pins are supported—perfect for race-week schedules alongside your team's code of conduct.
Know Who's Seen It
Read receipts let leaders track who has—and hasn't—read each announcement. The detail view shows a clean X/Y read summary alongside a full list of who has seen it and when. Members mark posts as read automatically by opening them, or manually with a single click from the list.
Notify on Your Terms
When publishing a new announcement, leaders choose whether to send an in-app and push notification to the whole team:
- Notify All — Every accepted member gets pinged (except the author)
- Do Not Notify — Silent publication for minor updates or corrections
By default, new announcements notify everyone. Edits never re-notify the team.
Optional Expiration
Set an expiration date when an announcement becomes irrelevant after a certain time. Expired posts are hidden from regular views automatically. Leaders can still see them for reference.
Access Control
- Leaders can create, edit, delete, pin, and change visibility
- Accepted members can read all announcements and mark them as read
- Visitors can only see Public announcements on the team's public page
Private announcements are fully protected—non-members are redirected away from them.
How It Works
- Create: Team leaders open the Announcements section and write a post with title, content, visibility, priority, and notification preference.
- Read: Members see announcements in the dashboard list. Pinned items appear first. Unread posts are clearly marked.
- Confirm: Opening an announcement automatically marks it as read. Leaders see exactly who has read each post.
- Manage: Edit, unpin, delete, or adjust priority at any time. Edits do not re-notify the team.
